Paris – Antwerp tastemaker Walter Van Beirendonck presented a refined amalgamation of colour, pattern and traditional fabrics for his visual feast at Paris Menswear Fashion Week.
Tailored suit shapes in muted hues of camel and grey formed the core of the collection, with more playful elements introduced as the show continued.
‘The clothes almost grew on the catwalk,’ notes Van Beirendonck. Colour pops of pastel pink, yellow and green were boldly introduced in outer layers. Patchwork fabrics also marked pockets and trouser legs, with graphic prints of hands and eyes dotted throughout.
This is a good example of a designer moving on from the Mix Mash trend, and taking it in a simplified direction reminiscent of the Amalgamate trend.
