Auckland – A restaurant being built in a tree in a New Zealand forest is being used as part of a new ‘reality tv’ advertisement. The Yellow Treehouse restaurant is being built only from materials sourced using classified advertisements in all Yellow Pages listings (print, online and mobile), demonstrating how useful the famous yellow book is.
Whimsically designed to look like a seashell, the tree house will surround the trunk of one of the tallest redwood trees in the forest, and will accommodate 18 seated people and waiting staff.
Architecture firm Pacific Environments Architects is overseeing design duties, whilst the progress of the project can be followed online via a blog written by manager Tracey Collins.
