Moshi Monsters sing to Generation D's tune

21 : 03 : 2012 Moshi Monsters : Mind Candy : Music Rox!

London – Mind Candy, the company behind social networking and gaming site aimed at children Moshi Monsters, is to release a compilation album called Music Rox! comprising songs by characters from the site.

The album, on sale from 2 April, will feature fictional artists from the game, such as Zack Binspin, Big Bad Bill and Bobbi Singsong.

Since its launch in 2010, the Moshi Monsters franchise has thrived through a mix of online and offline products, and transmedia campaigns. A year ago, Mind Candy launched Moshi Monsters magazine, which is now the best-selling children’s magazine in the UK, selling almost 163,000 copies per month in the second half of 2011. The franchise’s Nintendo DS game, Moshling Zoo, is one of the most popular games ordered from Amazon.

This transmedia franchise appeals to Generation D consumers. For more on the convergence of offline and online worlds, read our Inform with Tom Chatfield.
