The success of Stockholm Furniture Fair (SFF) has led to the development of a large-scale design week (SDW), which now includes showrooms, galleries and multi-use spaces in the centre of Stockholm.

This month, health, wellbeing and ergonomics were key focuses for furniture designers, specifically in the area of workplace design. During the satellite events there was also a push towards embracing a broader classification of what design can be.

Many installations featured contemporary references to digital culture. The concept behind the annual design bar by architect Andreas Martin-Löf drew inspiration from the relentless flow of Instagram and blog feeds online. ‘Our installation looks at the architect’s and the designer’s relationship with context and authenticity,’ says Martin-Löf.
