International – Transmedia production company beActive is putting to the test the storytelling potential of image-sharing network Pinterest by publishing Beat Girl, an interactive drama and web series.
Inspired by the novel Beat Girl by Jasmina Kallay, beActive is pinning photos, images and exclusive video content to its BeatGirlWorld pinboard under the guise of the book’s main character Heather Jennings. Heather provides her Pinterest followers with daily updates and video content documenting her journey, problems, fights, struggles and passion for music.
This is a great example of a brand bringing a fictional character to life through social media. For more on how your brand can use storytelling to engage and connect with your audience, read our Personality Brands microtrend.
