Hong Kong – Shang Xia, Hermès’s brand aimed at Chinese consumers, has opened an exhibition that explores ‘feelings, warm traditions and frozen moments’ in China’s history.
Pass It On will highlight cultural objects, including photos and personal stories gathered from people all over China. These are based on items such as an aluminium model aircraft, a vintage train ticket and a red scarf of the Chinese Young Pioneer’s League, displayed in a limited-edition box set. The stories will unfold during the exhibition between February 23 and March 6 at the south wing, Hong Kong Plaza.
Chinese consumers are increasingly returning to nostalgia. LS:N Global recently reported this in a micro trend on the revival of Chinese retro brands.
