Beijing – Disguised as a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, an avant-garde fashion store and exhibition space has opened in the Dongcheng district.
The store Triple-Major has been set up by the creative studio of the same name. It supports established designers as well as more experimental young talent, such as Germany’s Anntian and Finland’s Daniel Palillo.
On entering the store, which is located in a traditional hutong (alley), customers are greeted by a model of the human body showing acupunctures points and apothecary chests, alongside contemporary designs on white steel hangers.
There is an exhibition space for collaborations with global artists and designers. Currently showing is an installation by ffiXXed.
‘We believe that the true value of fashion outstrips its physical form, that true style comes with individuality, creativity and exploration,’ says director of Triple-Major Ritchie Chan.
