Miami – Minneapolis studio RO/LU collaborated with design companies Various Projects and Print All Over Me to create a graphic installation in homage to the humble grid for the Patrick Parrish Gallery.

RO/LU created a space based on the black lines and geometric forms of a grid. Surfaces On Which Your Setting and Sitting Will Be Uncertain made its debut earlier this year in the New York gallery. The space featured furniture and two life-sized sculptural figures made entirely of black lines, as well as two people who sat in the space wearing matching gridded clothes by Various Projects and Print It All Over Me. For Design Miami/ RO/LU added wallpaper made of fabric by Various Projects, creating a striking optical illusion.

The installation highlighted the aesthetics of Vectorism – which features vector grids as the starting point of the design as well as a playful use of Haptic Illusion, tricking the eye with the lines and placement of the furniture.
