Dublin, Ireland – A warehouse in Dublin’s docklands has been converted into a members-only club that offers a host of activities and bring-your-own bottle nights.
Start-ups and small businesses are increasingly setting up shop in unused and competitors’ spaces, as we reported in our Symbiotic Branding macrotrend.
The brainchild of Dave Smith, the Mabos multi-purpose space offers everything from women-only skateboarding nights to furniture craft workshops. All members are offered a tour of the premises when they join, and the club adopts a personal approach at every event. Members are asked to abide by rules on good behaviour and recycling.
With its harsh, concrete-like aesthetic and graffiti, the space offers a contrast between the rawness of the building and the warm experiences available inside.
