Las Vegas – Lego launched the latest version of its smart toy kit and platform, Mindstorms EV3, at International CES this week.
The new version features a smart brick that forms the centre of each robot that children can build. They can then pre-programme the robots to react to certain scenarios, such as shooting a projectile or moving forward when they sense something in front of them.
‘When a child opens the box, that is just the start of the journey,’ Camilla Bottke, global marketing lead of Mindstorms, tells LS:N Global. ‘They can learn new designs as we release them on the free iPad app that comes with the kit, and they can design their own robots. Children are becoming used to having their own unique experiences, and smart customisable products can cater for this need.’
Lego Mindstorms appeals to the youngest generation of digital natives. To discover more ways to be successful in this market, book a place at our forthcoming Trend Briefing.
