Milan – THINKK Studio and Studio 248 are presenting a group of everyday products that combine playful aesthetics with flexible functionality at the Ventura Lambrate exhibition at the Milan furniture fair.
THINKK Studio’s Merging Top, inspired by the classic spinning top toy, is a stackable, tilting vase made from three contrasting natural materials – marble, ash wood and ceramic. Used both together and separately, the chunky, rolling components of the vase evoke a sense of childhood fun.
The Crane Lamp, designed by Studio 248, is a crude construction of rounded ash wood forms that can be extended and twisted to suit the space and function.
Similarly, THINKK Studio’s ARMS chair features an adjustable armrest to maximise usability, while its design remains simple, almost humble.
These designs demonstrate consumers’ increasing appetite for combining fun with function: a theme LS:N Global explores further in our Fun and Functionality micro inspire.
