New York – Kevin Lasko, executive chef at the Park Avenue Winter restaurant has teamed up with New York-based artist Marina Abramović to create a ‘multi-sensory culinary intervention’.
Volcano Flambé is in the form of a dessert, with an MP3 recording of the artist guiding the diner through the experience of the dish. It comes with a collection of Spirit Cooking Recipes designed by Abramović, and based on her 1996 venture with publisher Jacob Samuel.
The collaboration is the first in a series of four to be launched seasonally. Artists Janine Antoni, Paul Ramírez Jonas and Michael Rakowitz will all unveil pieces throughout 2011.
