Unforced luxury

New York – Material Good is a luxury retail concept where customers can ponder their next purchase over a game of table football.

  • Inspired by the relaxed luxury of London’s Dover Street Market
  • Created in collaboration with Spin Design and Meg Sharpe Interior Designs

Luxury retail and pub games don’t usually make natural bedfellows, but at Material Good, customers are invited to browse a selection of high-end jewellery between glasses of champagne and bouts of table football.

Material Good exudes ‘unforced luxury’, says co-owner Rob Ronen. Customers are welcome to hang out in an environment that is the antithesis of the hard sell.

The space features an event-ready dining area with a custom-made Douglas Little light fixture, a relaxing library lounge complete with shearling daybed, and private rooms for entertaining or client meetings.

The Big Picture: Convergent retail spaces designed with the contextual cues of the home in mind are helping customers see how products fit into the lifestyles they aspire to. Find out more in our Home-tail microtrend.
