London – Web station Juice VCR is recreating the early magic of MTV with its hypnotic mix of DIY music videos.
The brainchild of Jessica Straker, built by design studio antipattern, Juice VCR presents the latest music videos and visuals from independent artists.
‘Do you remember when MTV played music videos? I really miss that type of discovery,’ says Straker, who created the site as a way of celebrating DIY culture.
The site works as a continuous, uninterrupted stream of video. There is no search bar and no choice, the only way to interact is to skip to the next track. It features a mix of established names, such as We Are Scientists and More Fire Crew, and less well-known artists.
