BrewDog growls: Craft beer brand opens bottle shop

29 : 04 : 2014 Re-Con Man : Save Our Boozers : BrewDog

London – Scottish independent brewery BrewDog is opening its first bottle shop with tastings, growler taps and a selection of over 250 craft beers to keep the Boozer Evangelist tribe happy.

The shop, BottleDog, will carry on BrewDog's mission of educating and encouraging those who are curious about the craft beer movement. Visitors can purchase regular bottles of beer or they can fill up a growler (takeaway flask) to sample a variety. 'We’ve worked hard to create an atmosphere that fosters knowledge sharing and champions the next generation of craft brewers,' says James Watt, BrewDog co-founder.

Like at BrewDog's bars, there will be tasting workshops and homebrewing classes and unlike most beer stores, all staff who work at BottleDog will be cicerones – the equivalent to sommeliers, but certified experts in beer. 'Whether you have a question about the properties of a specific type of hop, want bottled inspiration for your next homebrew or just want to find out what the hell the difference between a lager and an ale is, BottleDog is the place for you,' adds Watts.
