Tokyo – Japanese casual clothing retailer Uniqlo has launched a new microsite, Uniqlo HairDo, which provides GIF guides on matching hairstyles with Uniqlo outfits.
Uniqlo HairDo links to Pinterest, enabling fans to pin their favourite DIY hairstyles to the photo-sharing social media platform, thereby broadening the company’s reach.
The microsite is part of Lifetools, a wider marketing initiative in which different aspects of life are combined with the Uniqlo aesthetic. Another example is the recently launched Uniqlo Recipe site, where celebrated chefs create dishes inspired by the brand’s LifeWear clothing line.
Like other brands, Uniqlo is recognising the importance of creating a lifestyle message around the brand that is also easily shoppable. For more, read our Instant Inspiration Retail microtrend.
