Las Vegas – UK firm Blippar has launched an augmented reality app for brands and advertisers.
Users can access web links, videos and 3D experiences by pointing their smartphone at an advert. They can browse the in-app catalogue for products that use Blippar or look for the Blippar trademark ‘b’ on product packaging or in press adverts. They can also suggest brands to be ‘blipped’ on Blippar’s website and Facebook page.
‘What sets us apart from other augmented reality apps is that we are exclusively for brands and advertisers,’ says opportunities director Stephen Shaw.
