Sydney – A new retail space by Australian designers Facet Studio celebrates the design and heritage of trainers.
The interior of the Sneakerology store features a backlit wall showing the trainers as design artefacts, creating a museum-like experience. Computer screens in the centre of the space enable customers to access information about each of the trainers, placing the focus of the design on understanding the products.
‘The merchandise is the main element of the store design, which clearly communicates the store’s business and branding,’ a Facet Studio spokesperson tells LS:N Global.
Creating a story behind a product, and relating this to an immersive retail experience is a great way to engage with consumers. For more examples of retail innovation, see LS:N Global’s Beyond Retail macro trend.
