US – Luxury holiday company Crystal’s new private jet offers customers a suite of hotel-quality amenities and services.
The jet’s inaugural voyage, scheduled for 31 August 2017, will operate in partnership with Peninsula Hotels, and fly on routes between each of the luxury hotel chain’s locations. The trip will take in all 10 Peninsula Hotels properties, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok and Paris.
The private Boeing 777-200 is custom-designed to provide the highest levels of in-flight luxury, with several lounge and dining areas that feature tables where passengers can eat in restaurant-standard levels of comfort. Dishes will be cooked by a private chef and passengers can enjoy a glass of wine from what Crystal claims is the world’s largest in-flight wine cellar.
A 777 can carry up to 396 passengers in some configurations, but Crystal’s layout will provide space for 84. Four of the seats on the flight’s maiden voyage will be reserved for Peninsula Hotels representatives who will help guests to plan their travel itineraries.
From Crystal to Surf Air and Four Seasons, brands are redefining the concept of the private jet to make it accessible to consumers beyond the super-rich. Look out for our forthcoming Luxury Report to find out more about the future of luxury travel.
