Sydney – Contemporary winery Cake Wines has launched Community Feast, a series of social events offering food, wine and gardening tips.
The Community Feast series will see several of Sydney’s best chefs creating meals using ingredients picked in the city’s community gardens. Cake Wines will pair the dishes with 2014 and 2015 vintages, and a community gardener will discuss produce and growing techniques.
The winery’s event pages revel in the story behind each feast and feature interviews and information about each gardener, location and chef, and soundbites from Sarah Burvill, head winemaker at Cake Wines, that describe the wines on offer.
‘This is a chance to prioritise the importance of real community, the gardens and the food they can provide, and of course, the wines that go along with that,’ says Burvill.
The Rurban Revolution continues apace, shifting from a homely aesthetic to one of sophistication. For more on how the trend has evolved since 2010, see our Trend Tracker.
