Working holiday: Deloitte opens doors at hotel-inspired HQ

21 : 04 : 2009 Hotel Style Workspace : Redesign : Deloitte

London – A hotel-style headquarters is the new base of global management consultant Deloitte. Mackay and Partners designed the visually stimulating workspace with the company’s on-the-go employees, many of whom are not normally based at the London office, in mind.

On entering, members of staff step into a terrazzo-floored reception where they may check into their pre-booked meeting room or personal workspace. They make reservations for travel and accommodation at a concierge-style desk, and store personal belongings in designated ‘left luggage’ areas while on the move.

The interior design combines strong graphics, vivid colours and natural elements throughout: a suite of conference rooms is concealed by red-painted reeds, the lift lobby features a towering mural of a tree, and classic Vitra ‘Coconut’ chairs dot the entrance lobby and other, more intimate meeting hubs. Like the new Bloomberg office, the Deloitte headquarters is one of a growing number of creative, Dreamtelligent workplaces taking a natural approach to letting good ideas grow.
