Swish branding: Tinned food given a smart upmarket identity

03 : 09 : 2014 Boutique It All : Food Packaging : Seafood

Buenos Aires – Most people don’t expect sophistication in canned food. That may change with the arrival of seafood products rebranded by Argentinian agency Empatía.

The packaging, for Swedish seafood company Swish, juxtaposes striking photographs of the anchovies and sardines inside with clean white boxes and elegant black typography. The tins are colour-coded with blue and yellow circles, the Swiss national colours. The packaging is reminiscent of the Mousegraphics’ salmon oil boxes that LS:N Global highlighted in June.

In the past year, LS:N Global has tracked the adoption of sophisticated branding and packaging by unexpected sectors. For more, see our Luxe Laundry and Designer Pharmacies microtrends, as well as the Boutique-It-All section of our latest Retail Futures report
