Philadelphia – Snipi, a new internet programme that helps collate shopping wishlists, promises to streamline the online purchasing process.
The social shopping tool – with its simplification of product searches and price comparisons – launches at a time when e-commerce is making waves.
Users download a free Snipi toolbar, then browse their preferred e-boutiques, dragging and dropping desired items to the toolbar. All product information, including price and photos, is transferred to users’ personal profiles without their having to navigate away from the store’s webpage.
Where things get especially interesting is when Snipi makes shopping social. The programme harnesses the social-networking power of the internet, including comments from other Snipi shoppers on wishlist items. This means users get instant consumer feedback without having to trawl through comments and ratings on individual retail sites.
Snipi’s link with comparison shopping site Shopzilla also helps shoppers saves time by automatically linking selected products to websites that offer the same or similar items for a lower price.
