Run for cover: Nike celebrates the spiritual side of sport

23.10.2011 Trainers : Jun Takahashi : GIRA

Kyoto – Nike and Japanese streetwear brand Undercover. have created Running Monks, a short film promoting the third collaboration between the two companies.

Featuring the GIRA (GYAKUSOU International Running Association) and the running crew of Undercover creative director Jun Takahashi, the film celebrates the meditative quality of running.

The collection features jackets, thermal layers and trainers, intended to ‘blend well with nature and the city at the same time,’ says Takahashi.

In a Bleisure world with ever more blurred work/life boundaries, consumers are finding a sense of escapism and meaning in the outdoors. For more examples, see our Nu Trekkers and Yama Girl tribes.
