London – Wrigley’s 5 Gum has released an iPhone app, The Nightjar, a ‘video game with no video’.
The game places players in the role of a character stranded aboard a dying spacecraft. They must escape aliens and a black hole to survive. Since the game has no visuals, players must rely on their hearing to play the game. Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch provides the voice of Dickie, who guides players through the ship.
The game has been released as part of Wrigley’s The 5 Experience, an ‘online hub’ which aims to engage all five of the body’s senses across gaming, music, film, art and fashion.
