New York – Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corporation, has launched The Daily, an iPad-only newspaper. ‘New times demand new journalism,’ said Murdoch when he unveiled the initiative at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
Priced at $0.99 each week or $39.99 annually, the newspaper promises to offer ‘the best of traditional journalism’ with ‘the best of contemporary technology’. The Daily will publish up to 100 pages and will cover news, sport, opinion, arts, lifestyle, celebrities, apps and games. It will feature videos as well as written content and users can easily save articles and share them on Facebook and Twitter.
