London – A pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes is probably every girl’s dream. Now the footwear designer has turned to exclusive fabrics from the 1960s to re-create the brand’s luxury heritage.
The shoes will be on sale in London’s Liberty department store in a special area called ‘World of Manolo’. The archive fabrics feature Manolo’s signature watercolour drawings in three different prints. One of them, ‘Rosebud’, pays homage to Orson Welles. Another is called ‘Rothko Shoes’ and draws on the 1950s in a geometric print.
Fashion labels are increasingly looking to bring back some of their heritage. For more details read our recent Insight News article.
