London – Five international colleges have set up shop at this month’s Graduate Fashion Week in a bid to showcase student work from Amsterdam, Munich, St Petersburg, Singapore and Switzerland alongside entries from more than 50 UK colleges.
Alexandra Fenzi from AMD Munich and Roya Hesam from Amsterdam Fashion Institute have been selected for the Gala Award final show.
‘The judges selected Roya Hesam’s sexy and elegant sheer pieces for the Gala show – her look is a contemporary take on building layers into the wardrobe,’ said Leslie Holden, head of fashion and design department at Amsterdam Fashion Institute.
Alexandra Fenzi from AMD Munich was praised by her tutor Gundi Patscheider as having a unisex appeal for her ‘casual sports collection inspired by the street and easy outdoor summer life’.
Both college representatives added that the overseas students have welcomed the networking opportunities of the London event and for the chance for colleges to collaborate with like-minded institutes and widen their international profile.
Following our preview LS:N Global will review the best designers at Graduate Fashion Week and will highlight the key trends to watch from the runway presentations. Watch out for our coverage next week.
