Bricolage essentials

26 : 08 : 2016 City Traveller : Taipei : Urban Research

Taiwan – City Traveller is a new clothing collection aimed at international urban explorers.

  • The collection is the result of a collaboration between retailer plain-me and clothing brand Urban Research
  • The collection’s logo is a hybrid of the Chinese characters for Taipei and Taipei Railway

Comprising lightweight T-shirts, caps, sandals and bags that prioritise ease of movement, the City Traveller collection is a range of everyday essentials with a minimalist aesthetic that makes them easy to match with other garments.

Branding is placed discreetly within pockets and sleeve folds, and the logo is a hybrid of Chinese characters for Taipei and Taipei Railway.

A campaign video that accompanies the collection shows a young man walking the streets of the city, visiting local shops and cafés, trying food at a traditional market and travelling around the metropolis on public transport. During the film the model discusses his love of exploration, explaining that ‘travel to me is to discover different sides of myself'.

The Big Picture

Consumers are increasingly looking for brands and products that work in harmony with their transnational identities. See our New Bricolage Living macrotrend for more.
