Wong Ping for The Raw Collection by Prada, Milan

Milan – Prada has invited six internationally acclaimed illustrators to leave their mark on its latest eyewear collection.

  • The artists bring the collection to life through their own distinct styles
  • Prada is renowned for its striking artist collaborations, such as Autumn de Wilde’s The Postman Dreams

Carly Kuhn, Megan Hess, Blair Breitenstein, Judith van den Hoek, Wong Ping and Vida Vega have each created a short film to express their personal take on the Raw collection.

The result is a wonderful mix of styles, from Breitenstein’s watercolour city to Wong Ping’s anime-inspired piece, which features an enigmatic alien protagonist.

'Prada gave us an open brief to create an eclectic series of animated illustrations starring the Raw eyewear collection using three walking cycles (front, side and closeup) and three intercut shots,' Ping tells LS:N Global. 'Without any sense of time and space, my intention was to create some tension and keep the viewer longing for more.'

The campaign reinforces Prada’s position as a major patron of the arts following the opening of its contemporary art and design institution Fondazione Prada earlier this year.
