Berlin – A former warehouse has been converted into a new centre for contemporary art. Conceived by Pott Architects, Halle am Wasser is home to six art galleries. The structure is the first in the development of Art Campus, a planned public space for cultural use. The eventual district, which will cover the surface area of 40 football pitches, will in time include flats, offices, restaurants and a marina.
The initiative suggests a way forward for businesses keen on civic branding, demonstrating how companies may connect with communities by offering useful cultural resources.
