Story time: Consumer Futures Forum looks ahead

30 : 11 : 2012 Pentagram : Transmedia Storytelling : FreshNetworks

London – At the Consumer Futures Forum yesterday, 29 November, LS:N Global’s own consumer insight experts joined industry leaders in marketing, advertising and retail design for an intensive look at what’s new and next in consumer thinking.

The day began with LS:N Global’s wide-angle view of emerging consumer futures around the globe, followed by Bricks, Tricks, Magic and Mayhem, a conversation between The Future Laboratory’s Chris Sanderson and Alastair Kean, director of interiors at Dalziel + Pow. Kean discussed how he and his team have incorporated emerging technologies, platforms and behaviours into retail design for top brands.

The insights continued after a break for afternoon tea. John Kearon, founder of BrainJuicer Group, led participants into the hidden life of the consumer with his innovative approach to market research. Matt Rhodes, strategy director at FreshNetworks, gave us a primer on enchanting consumers through transmedia storytelling and the power of cross-platform dreaming.

The day wrapped up with a chat with Pentagram partner Naresh Ramchandani who joined guests beside a crackling, monochrome virtual hearth to share insights on how brands can improve storytelling strategies.

LS:N Global members include creatives, planners, marketers, forecasters and decision makers across the lifestyle industries. Read our Membership page for more on the benefits of belonging.
