Shanghai – The key tribes in the Asian luxury travel market include the Status Seekers and the New Sophisticates, according to a new report by The Future Laboratory presented at the International Luxury Travel Market Asia (ILTM) this week by The Future Laboratory’s Chris Sanderson and LS:N Global editor James Wallman.
‘Asia’s luxury travellers want status – you just need to work out which tribe each customer is so you know the best way to give them that status,’ said Wallman. ‘Status Seekers want to visit marque hotels and buy big name brands their friends have already heard about – whereas The New Sophisticates want to go places and have experiences their friends haven’t heard about yet.’
