Tokyo – Knife manufacturer Victorinox and Kazuma Yamaguchi of Japanese design house Abitax have collaborated to create the Tomo, the first-ever re-interpretation of the iconic Swiss Army knife.
To launch the project, Victorinox has joined forces with British artist Rob Ryan to create a modern art experiment – a take on Kirigami, the ancient Japanese art of paper cutting.
This is a well-executed update of an iconic design. For more examples of brands putting new slants on established designs, look out for reviv-ovation in our Revivalism macrotrend.
