Gulp it down: Nokia film sets a world record

London – Nokia and Aardman Animations have a set a world record for the world’s largest stop-motion animation set, with a film created by advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy London and directed by Will Studd and Ed Patterson of Sumo Science.

The film, entitled Gulp, was shot entirely on the new Nokia N8 smartphone and highlights the phone’s Carl Zeiss optics and 12-megapixel camera. Three phones were used to shoot the video and were elevated 36 metres above ground on a large cherry picker.

The film tells the story of a fisherman who goes to sea and is swallowed by a monster and becomes trapped inside its stomach. He is then catapulted to the surface, but by then it is too late to save his catch from escaping back into the ocean.
