London – The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has donated plants to a bold new urban farming project in Greenwich.

  • Farmopolis has taken unwanted plants from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016 for its ‘floating garden’
  • It’s a partnership between festival planner Secret Productions, design and farming practice Wayward and Greenwich Peninsula

Farmopolis is an urban oasis grown from the cast-offs of London’s largest flower show. Its mixed-use space is divided into a food incubator, hydroponic farm and events and festival space and will host farm-to-table restaurants. It will also support a new Young Farmer Apprenticeship Scheme, educating the next generation on how to cultivate and harvest crops in the urban environment.

South London’s latest cultural hub launched with botanical jewellery classes and theatre performances for the public and has planned an extensive schedule of events, including arts and crafts and dance workshops to engage the local community.
