Global – Community TV is a digital-first approach to curating video and building networks.
Take Nameless.tv, a new curated channel where visitors can browse through 21 eclectic channels, with headline topics such as ASMR, Drone Tourism, Japan World and Based TV. The scope is global and niche, making it a treasure trove for those bored of the basic cat videos they are used to being fed through algorithms and mainstream publications.
Marc Kremers, the founder of Vvatch.tv, a new user-generated video platform calls this idea channel-zapping. ‘I wanted another way to discover and share video,’ Kremers tells LS:N GLobal. ‘I like Netflix and YouTube, but sometimes I don’t want choice and I don’t want to search.’
His solution is a system architecture in which viewers are thrown into a stream of refreshing content, selected by an influencer to whom they hand over the remote control.
