Belgrade – Fans of the film Good Bye Lenin! will appreciate the concept behind Yugodom, a stay-over museum experience.
Evoking the spirit and style of Belgrade’s socialist past, guests can travel back to the 1960s and experience life in what was formerly Yugoslavia. Yugodom’s founder, costume designer Mario Milakovic, sourced mid-century furniture from basements, attics and auctions around the city, restoring them to their former glory as functional pieces for guests to enjoy. By staying in this unique space, visitors will be able to learn about the country’s social history through its many fascinating objects, pictures, books and memorabilia, which furnish the guesthouse.
The Big Picture: In the post-Airbnb economy, artists are using hospitality as a medium, a space for contemplation as well as relaxation. Find out more using our Art-spitality microtrend.
