LED’s moment

19 : 03 : 2015 Buster And Punch : Buster Bulb : Lighting

Southwark, London – Making LED sexy might sound like a tough sell, but designers at Buster + Punch have done just that with the Buster Bulb.

  • The global LED lighting market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 25.89% between 2014 and 2019, according to a Research and Markets report
  • High-quality and energy-efficient lighting is diffusing its way through the market

Not only does the matte black and burnished metal design tick the style box, it is also an eco-friendly alternative to traditional filament bulbs, and can last for around five years if used for six hours a day. With energy consumption an increasingly important issue, consumers are looking to brands to provide them with solutions that enable them to limit their carbon footprint without compromising on their taste. The bulb itself, ‘refined to outlast tomorrow’, according to founder Massimo Buster Minale, draws on Edison’s classic teardrop design and houses a resin-light pipe that creates both ambient and spot lighting.

The Big Picture: Cash-strapped and eco-conscious, people are seeking brands that can help counter their own short-sightedness, and act as long-term partners on their journey to optimisation. Read our macrotrend The Immortal Brand for more.
