US – An online tailoring system based in Los Angeles enables users to find their perfect scent without the hassle of heading to the shops.
Commodity, launched on 5 March, aims to take the stress out of finding the perfect fragrance – made harder by the fact that all perfumes start to smell the same after a few have been sampled – by offering a bespoke online service.
Its Scent Tailoring service requires users to answer a series of questions to create a fragrance profile. Based on that profile, Commodity creates a shortlist of fragrances it believes would be perfect, and sends off a tailored selection of mini-samples. This enables recipients to refine their selection before ordering one scent or a set of three, which will then be delivered to their door. Commodity has worked with an established fragrance house to create premium-quality scents designed to complement the skin. The simple packaging has a sophisticated look that will appeal to both men and women. For more on bespoke beauty, read the Beauty Report available in our online shop.
