Playa del Carmen, Mexico – Design firm Sociedad Anónima has developed new packaging for The Santanera Group’s new mescal, Papadiablo.
The packaging concept was inspired by duality and introspection. The shape of the bottle has a nostalgic element, reminiscent of old medicinal decanters. An embossed texture has been applied to the surface of the glass bottle, giving consumers an enhanced grip when pouring.
The labelling features a series of cryptic, black and white emblems similar to those used in LS:N Global’s Emblematic design direction.
Mescal, a Mexican spirit previously associated with moonshine, has been given a complete rebranding and is now considered a cosmopolitan drink by Mexico’s fashionistas.
The revival of mescal is one of the trend impacts we will examine in our New Emerging Affluents macrotrend at the LS:N Global autumn/winter 2012 Trend Briefing. For more information email [email protected] or call 020 7870 1971.
