Amsterdam – Dutch designer duo Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe have launched their new USUALS label at Inside Design Amsterdam.
The new products are on sale through a dedicated website that offers insight into the production process for each item. By clicking on the Be Inspired link on each product page, users can access a series of videos, sketches and production photographs.
Each item on sale on the site is individual, and through the transparency of the website, consumers can see the complete production process for any product they purchase.
Consumers are increasingly concerned about the provenance of the products they buy, as well as their food. We explore the subject further in our Show Your Working micro trend. The USUALS website is a great example of design appealing to the desire for transparency.
