Furniture food: chefs re-imagine designers’ homeware creations

10 : 02 : 2015 Note Design Studio : Domestic Science : Synaesthetic Selling

Stockholm – Note Design Studio took a furniture-maker’s approach to culinary design for its Domestic Science exhibition.

Note Design Studio’s Domestic Science exhibition took guests on a sensory journey through its furniture range, employing the talents of chefs at Aveqia to re-interpret the essence of its designs.

Tasked with creating three dishes for six signature pieces of furniture, head chef Daniel Engellau’s menu included Forest Fire, a dish of birch-smoked salmon that brought alive the process of treating the wood for Note’s Shell stool.

‘Guests felt a connection to the product beyond a classic exhibition, the concept of which we find boring,’ Note founder and design manager Cristiano Pigazzini tells LS:N Global. ‘We wanted to enhance the design by adding in the senses of taste, smell, and being able to feel the consistency of the product.’
