The Foresta Lumina is a 2km trail through the park featuring a range of multimedia installations that was built to attract more tourists to the area. Although Le Parc de la Gorge attracts hikers for day trips, the night-time attraction is meant to entice visitors to stay in the region overnight and contribute more tourist dollars to other parts of the town.

Renowned for its experiential installations, Moment Factory was commissioned to transform the forest. The team was inspired by the natural forms of the trees and local forest folklore. They used projection mapping, light installations and an ethereal soundtrack to create a world in which fairies and other mystical creatures roam.

In our latest macrotrend, Neo-Tolkienism, we identified how fantasy is not only for pop culture, but integrating itself into other parts of life. Foresta Lumina is translating the imaginings of old legends into a multimedia immersive event that makes them as real as ever.
