Stockholm – In today’s troubled economy, graduates are finding it harder to find a job after leaving university. Rather than send out CVs and emails to prospective employers, Konstfack University graduate Erik Olovsson packed up his tools and drove around Sweden in a mobile studio to find work.
Erik’s Designbuss is a mobile home that was modified to contain a print workshop and photography studio. Olovsson drove the vehicle from Stockholm to Ångelholm, stopping in several cities on the way, where he offered small-scale services to local businesses.
Instead of taking money, Olovsson accepted a different kind of payment for his services, such as something to eat, petrol, new tyres or a hot shower.
Other graduates are also taking to the road. Kingston University graduates created a mobile degree show to promote their work around London. Find out more in our Seed story.
