International – London-based design studio Stinkdigital has created a Facebook app for sunglasses brand Ray-Ban called All Tomorrow’s Legends, which analyses people’s online presence to create a digital narrative.
Produced to mark Ray-Ban’s 75th anniversary, the app is designed to make legends of its Facebook fans by creating an illustrated story from personal online information. The story is then made into an animated film that can be shared on Facebook.
The app automatically analyses personal data from Facebook and Foursquare, as well as other third parties, and selects the best illustrations from a stockpile that can produce more than 9,000 variations.
This is a great example of a brand using the Personal Information Economy to create an app that harnesses the value that consumers, particularly members of Generation D, place on their digital lives.
