London – vvatch.tv is an online video platform that lets viewers watch curated YouTube content together.
Conceived by digital designer and Future Corp founder Marc Kremers, vvatch.tv came out of a project by students from École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne looking into digital interface design. Vvatch is simple to navigate. Just use the computer keyboard’s arrow keys to switch between channel and video.
Vvatch is still in beta mode, but Kremers has invited creative minds including London-based digital design duo DVTK to contribute channels, which range from music streams to funny videos and film clips.
Where vvatch differs from other curatorial video platforms such as JuiceVCR is that on launch it will allow viewers from around the world to watch together. ‘In the forthcoming first release we have figured out a way to make watching videos a live experience like Periscope, or conventional tv for that matter. This will make vvatch.tv a collective experience,’ says Kremers.
