Global – Tesla is targeting mums with its family-friendly electric SUV, the Model X.
The seven-seat SUV isn’t an obvious venture for the company behind the world’s fastest electric consumer car, but this is exactly why Tesla built the Model X.
‘We wanted to show the world that any type of car can go electric,’ said Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, at the Model X launch.
With eight airbags, a crash-sensing system of cameras, radar and sonar technology, and a structure designed to absorb impacts, the Model X reveals a more mature side of the Tesla brand, even with the addition of a medical-grade high-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filter for a ‘bioweapon defence mode’.
