Milan – Product and interior designer Lee Broom will re-invent a collection of abandoned retail spaces in a department store-inspired show at this year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
Broom’s exhibition on the Via Alfredo Cappellini will be a showcase for his furniture, lighting and home accessories designs in situ in a fake department store. Visitors will be able to explore a labyrinth of rooms dedicated to women’s accessories, a perfumery, men’s fitting rooms and a bookstore that will all contain pieces from his collection. The new range remains true to Broom’s design aesthetic while developing his concept of shape and fabrication in a shift towards a circular theme and brass palette. The exhibition will not only present Broom’s latest collection, it will also offer an insight into his brand and design ethos.
The Big Picture: Designers are creating Faction Marketing-inspired environments when presenting their collections, allowing insights into the products as well as the brand as a whole.
