Mirror image: Exhibition reflects on designer's past

Lisbon – Portuguese fashion designer Felipe Oliveria Baptista celebrated the 10th anniversary of his line with a solo exhibition at the Museu do Design e da Moda (MUDE) in Lisbon.

The exhibition’s space has been designed by Bureau Betak and allows visitors to view Baptista’s work from a variety of angles, using mirrors to reflect and refract the displays. The space echoes Baptista’s graphic and structured aesthetic, and the concrete, lighting and mirrors combine to create a grown-up funhouse, full of surprise and curiosity.

In our Haptic Illusion design direction, we discussed how designers are using different techniques and materials to create optical illusion effects. Bureau Betak applies this mentality to an exhibition space, showing how Haptic Illusion can be translated into showroom scenarios to great effect.
